In 24: The Official Magazine, an article has a quote from Executive Producer Jole Surnow. Here is the quote:
"We want to do a movie and we have an idea for the movie. It would pretty much live outside the TV show. It wouldn't be a CTU movie; it would be a Jack Bauer 24."

As for me, that is a little disappointing, but a little uplifting. I'm sad that the movie won't have to do with CTU, however I am a little glad about that. It will be good to see Jack get away from CTU life for more than 5 minutes at the beginning of a Day. Also, since it won't be revolved around CTU it will probably be easier to cope with the fact that it won't be real time.

Yes I agree. He'll probably still have to deal with some agency though, such as the CIA maybe. I like the fact though that it's going to evolve around Bauer.

Yeah, since it's Bauer that's basically a given. But, I'm really glad that it revolves around Bauer instead of CTU, so that we don't have any crappy subplots, or have to deal with watching somebody else while waiting to get back to Bauer.

Yeah i agree. I'm sure there willl be a few subplots, but not as many as in the tv show. They need subplots in the tv show though, because there's so much time to fill up.

Yeah, they can probably only fit one or two subplots into a movie, whereas the show as at least five per season, usually just for some filler.

yeah, usually for filler but there have been some good subplots through the seasons. subplots make the story deeper in my opinion.

True, there have been some good ones. For example Tony and Michelle's relationship, or every single thing with Sherry Palmer. But some have been sh*t. For example Kim Bauer in Day 2.

Yeah, that subplot wasn't that great. Her and chase in season 3 however was a nice addition to the main plot IMO.
